Bloging a new way of life

You know, I once asked an IT 'expert' if  there was a way we could connect computers in the office and link with the rest of the world at minimal cost. The answer I received then was, no it is not possible unless we got an ISP to create a LAN and use Wi Fi.... etc.

I later asked a student the same question. the student said with a few wires and a hub he could connect the computers and we could  share files through a drop folder. the cost of this would be 20,000.00. so we used the students option and one of our old colleague did the network. to date the option is useful especially when moving large files that a conventional network would not transfer. Of course later we could afford the commercial network wi fi  and all.

At that time the social networks were just developing and the only one that i could subscribe to was the Graduates.com, we still discussed with getting a web site out and the talk was constrained by development costs and procurement procedures to get it done. this cost the business a lot since we could not reach our clients who needed information at all times.

Later in 2011 I made a belated discovery, you can create a blog site in one of many ways. well courtesy of Google's blog post one can create a social media almost as good as creating your own website. well the experts will give some detailed list of why it may be better to have a properly set up website but if i can get my view out at only the cost of going on the internet what the cows puddle of dung does it require to have a whole network and programmer and sooo much money to set it up, not forgetting another computer called a server just to say the same thing on the net.

That's what differentiates an expert and an executive assistant. But don't take my word, ask someone why they do not have a web site all this time.

So the jury is out how long will it take before they set up that web site.

I wrote this 4 years ago and did not publish it, so today i get to share. This time people have moved to social media to do almost any thing from conference calls, fund raising  and selling stuff, marketing and just hanging out. it is the really popular means to get in touch in technicolor.

Tommorow something new awaits. see you then.

Hi it is 2019 the date is 19th July and alot has changed since we last spoke on this page. There are new services for instance i am working on a touch screen phone that has more memory than the server that used to be at the Railways doing payroll and national exams. It is 2Giga bites ram and 16 giabites Rom with an 8 something core processor. And imagine this the cheapest and smallest it is a samsung a2. There are phones 200 times the speed and the fit the palm of the hand.

Can you imagine the fellows that went to space had a processor and memory the size of an old casio phone. I wonder why no one has gone back.
Sadly the word monetise is the new limit for everything.

We have Youtube, whatsup, twitter, facebook and literally a group of friends living accross can run their own media house.
Safaricom the mobile phone operator is now the king of trade literally becoming a Government on its own
Everything  and every one is connected they transact upto a trillion shillings daily. We lost Bob Collymore the CEO to Blood Cancer i do not know how much radiation levels is being emitted by these devices.  But many people are suffering cancerous ailments.
